My name is Lalla Squeglia. That really is my name, I swear! Trust me, I know it's a little bit...odd. But there's worse out there, so it'll do. :)
I'm a writer. I'll admit, that's mostly the reason I made this thing in the first place, for the work. If you've found this blog and recognize the name, you're either family, a close friend, or you've read something. If you're the latter, I hope you enjoyed it. If you're the former, please don't share any terrible stories. Please?
I'll use this first post as an 'about me' thing. Why not, right? I have no idea what I'm doing, after all!
I'm nineteen as of this posting. I'm starting off on my...third? I think it's my third. Yeah, third year of college. It's fun. I'm not much of a party person, but at least I can set my own hours, pretty much. I'm not a big fan of pictures, because I always end up looking like some kind of Hollywood-style crazy person. Not the kind of thing you want out in public.
Now to the fun stuff!
I write. I try to write every day, but sometimes I get distracted by solitaire. I'll put down pretty much any idea that hits me, but I tend to lean towards heavy drama and something I like to call 'new gothic'. Basically, it's the old-style gothic-atmosphere, scary people, maybe a touch of the supernatural (or a big handful, in my case) but without the...erm...incestuous humpback in Granny's attic. I never was a big fan of that. It always seemed a bit unnecessary. But hey, whatever floats your boat.
I've got two published e-books out there, too. One is one of these 'new gothic' pieces that I mentioned earlier called "The House on the Moor". That one's on Amazon.com. The other one is a dramatic piece called "Color Blind". It's very, very dark. I don't think I've written anything that matches its darkness. That book is available on Smashwords.com, and it's my very first published novel.
Well, that's all, really, for this first post. I'll put the links to my books below, since they're the point of this blog. Adios, amigos!
